| 30.08.06 Hapag-Lloyd present on all 5 continents The South Africa Express service (SAX) will link the European ports Felixstowe, Hamburg, Antwerp and Le Havre with Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban. Transit time from Cape Town to Hamburg will be 18 days. The service will start with the first voyage from Felixstowe on Oct. 16th, the first north bound vessel will leave Durban on Oct. 29th. Hapag-Lloyd has had its own organisation in South Africa with offices in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg since the beginning of July 2006. The Area is managed by Ms Gudrun Feil, based in Durban, who has lengthy international experience with Hapag-Lloyd. With its acquisition of CP Ships in 2005, Hapag-Lloyd joined the Top 5 of globally active lines. The Hamburg-based company is represented in over 100 countries and has a total of about 500 sales offices worldwide. Its organisation is structured into five regions: North Europe, South Europe (also responsible for Africa), North America, Latin America and Asia. Hapag-Lloyd has a containership fleet of more than 140 vessels with a total capacity of over 460,000 TEU.
