CP Ships to be Included in S&P/TSE 60 Index

02.10.01

London, UK (02 October 2001) - CP Ships, one of the world's top ten container shipping companies, is to be included in the S&P/TSE 60 Index of the top Canadian publicly listed companies. It will also be included in the TSE 300 and the S&P Global 1200.

A market leader in a growth industry, CP Ships has a proven track record of building shareholder value. In the past five years, through the business cycle, it has consistently generated returns that exceed its cost of capital.

CP Ships is to be listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol TEU on October 3, 2001, following Canadian Pacific's reorganisation, which was completed on October 1, 2001.

"CP Ships' inclusion in S&P/TSE 60 is most welcome as it brings our success to a wider range of equity investors," commented Ray Miles, CEO of CP Ships.
