ANZDL and Contship Containerlines Relocate US Management

06.08.01

Tampa, USA (06 August 2001) - As part of the continuing development of CP Ships, the management and support services currently provided from Virginia Beach, Virginia for Contship Containerlines and from Santa Ana, California for ANZDL are both being relocated to Tampa, Florida.

Tampa already serves as management and support services base for two other CP Ships brands, Lykes Lines and TMM Lines. The offices in Santa Ana and Virginia Beach, which were the North American headquarters for ANZDL and Contship Containerlines when they were acquired by CP Ships in 1999 and 1997 respectively, will be closed.

Both brands will continue to be supported by a network of offices throughout North America to ensure continuity of service to customers.

"By focusing on Tampa, we are able to promote further co-operation, co-ordination and synergy across the four brands. This strengthens their ability to compete and to develop their services in a way that best suits their customers," commented David Halliday, CP Ships Senior Vice President responsible for Australasian and Europe-Asian trades.

"As far as possible, we hope to keep the teams from both offices together," he added. From Tampa, John Speakman, VP North America, will continue to have overall responsibility for Contship Containerlines' services in North America, as will Andrea Bolch, VP North America, for ANZDL's. Both will continue to report to David Halliday.
